We do so many mindless chores and activities every single day such as cleaning your room, washing dishes, doing laundry, driving home, or walking to class. One of my New Year’s Resolutions for this year was to take this time and use it to learn new things and use that time to do something productive! The five podcasts listed below are all podcasts that can help learn you learn and understand everything from how to find a healthcare plan to the history of plastic flamingos

Tiny Leaps, Big Changes

Tiny Leaps, Big Changes is a podcast hosted by Gregg Clunis that talks about exactly what the title says. Clunis talks about small and simple things you can change or do in your everyday life that will ultimately make your life better and help you reach your goals. He talks about everything from how to effectively set goals, to self-love and confidence habits you can implement in your life. There are over 600 episodes that range anywhere from 9 minutes to twenty minutes so they’re perfect for walking to class, washing your dishes, activities of that sort.

Stuff You Should Know

Stuff You Should Know is a great podcast to help you keep learning while you’re doing things around your dorm or apartment. This podcast is about literally anything and everything. The hosts of the show, Josh and Chuck, post an episode almost every day where they talk about something random every single day such as the history of plastic flamingos, porcupines, Alcatraz escape attempts and so much more random stuff. This is a great way to learn random facts that you can throw into everyday conversation and impress your friends!

The Inforium (College Info Geek)

The Inforium (previously known as College Info Geek) is a podcast focused on different life skills such as applying for jobs, travel hacking, networking and so much more. The first 300 episodes of the podcasts are geared more towards advice for college students, but the newer episodes are still for college students but are geared more towards young adults. The episodes are an hour to two hours long so they’re great for long drives or doing chores.

Adulthood Made Easy

Adulthood Made Easy is the perfect podcast for college students that are starting to go out on their own in the “real world”. Sam Zabell talks through different things required while becoming an adult that you haven’t thought about such as finding a doctor or finding a healthcare plan. She teaches you how to go on grocery runs, create a budget, cook, do your taxes, and more like an adult. This is a great podcast to teach college students everything they need to know as they go into adulthood!

Life Kit

Life Kit is one of my favorite podcasts! Episodes are posted almost every day with advice on everything from how to build better playlists, to how to organize your photos, onto harder topics such as breakups and grief. The episodes range from five minutes to twenty minutes, so it’s perfect to get a daily dose of advice. This is the ideal podcast to teach you things that college doesn’t teach you such as how to save for retirement or how to brew the best cup of coffee at home.
