So you and your besties are single this year, or you just want to celebrate the women in your life. Either way it’s always nice to have a girls day, and with mental health day landing on Galentine’s day I can’t think of a better way to unwind then with your girls. I have created a list filled with ideas on how to spend your february 13th.

  1. Brunch

You could always start your day with the girls and get a cute brunch! Some local places you could try include The Flying Biscuit cafe, Tupelo Honey Southern Kitchen & Bar, PRESS Coffee Crêpes Cocktails, or Parkside Restaurant just to name a few. If you are of age you could add bottomless mimosa!

  1. Art Museum

If you are looking for a budget friendly option you could always go to North Carolina Museum of Art, which is free admission.

  1. Game night

This is a great option if you have busy days but still want to carve out that time to see your friends.

  1. Secret Cupid

Similar to Secret Santa, the only difference is that it is valentines/ Galentine’s Day themed. Some cute Ideas for gifts would be a little at home spa package, candy, baked goods! Those that love to read could make it a book exchange of your favorite books!

  1. Movie Marathon

I mean you do have all day thanks to the wellness day, You could pop on you and your besties favorite movie franchise or even TV Series. If you can’t agree on one you could all choose your favorite movie and have your friends each watch everyone’s favorite. If you want to niche it down a bit you could say it needs to be a comedy or ROM COM.

  1. Mixology Party

If you’re old enough you could host a mixology party and rate everyone’s bartending skills. If you’re not quite 21 you could still do this with fun mocktails!

  1. The Great Galentines Bake off

This is a really fun option for the group of girls that love to bake, you could easily make this a fun tradition! And you can always share the sweet treats over a movie or just hanging out!

  1. Get dressed up for yourself and your girls!

Take each other on a fancy date! Go to a nice restaurant and get all dolled up to do it, typically something that one would do with a partner but use this day to remind yourself and your girl(s) that you/they don’t need a partner to go do things with when you’ve got each other!

  1. Go to the Salon

Go get your nails done, a facial, or even something like a massage. This is also a great time to have a little self love!

  1.  Paint and sip night

For all those that love a good craft this is a really cute and fun way to unwind and let out your creativity. Whether you use mugs, canvas, wine glasses, etc. it is bound to look cute!

  1.  Get Pancakes!

This year Galentine’s day also happens to land on international pancake day. So whether you do this at a brunch or make them for a brinner this could be a really fun option.

  1.  Make heart shaped pizza

This is a great option for those that want to do something from the comfort of their home. This also gives a little more control on dress code if it’s at someone’s home!

  1.  Paint Pottery

There are some great places in downtown Raleigh to do this and with us having the whole day off this might just be the perfect way to fill it.

I hope this gave you an idea or two of how to spend your Galentine’s day, no matter how you spend it, I hope it is a great day! And that you do something for yourself because you deserve to take a break for the day and unwind with your girls!
