12 Songs I’ll Have on Repeat this December

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at NCSU chapter.

Winter is arguably my favorite season. The clothes, the food, the holidays, THE MUSIC. So I decided to make my perfect winter playlist to start the season off right.

Evermore – Taylor Swift

This song IS winter to me. The evermore title track is one of my favorite songs on the album, and one of my favorite Taylor songs of all time. Its lyrics perfectly capture the feeling of winter in only 5 minutes and 4 seconds. It might be a closing track, but to me it’s the perfect opening track to my made-up winter album.

Heather – Conan Gray

December 3 will always be Heather Day to me.

Christmas Tree Farm – Taylor Swift

I do not allow myself to hear a second of this song when it’s not Christmas season because it brings a certain joy to me that is only allowed in December. The first listen each year is something I look forward to 364 days in advance.

December – Ariana Grande

Ariana’s Christmas EP is simply iconic. This song is the perfect song to set the mood for December.

‘tis the damn season – Taylor Swift

This will be on repeat this winter break.

Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas – Phoebe Bridgers

What’s December without a depressing cover of one of the most famous Christmas songs by Phoebe Bridgers.

Snow on the Beach – Taylor Swift ft. Lana Del Ray

This wouldn’t be a playlist of mine without a Midnights Taylor song. And lucky me, Swift and Del Ray made the perfect winter song for me to add. I could listen to this bridge all day.

Like it’s Christmas – Jonas Brothers

This should be a Christmas classic. Checks all the boxes for a jolly Christmas song.

Back To December – Taylor Swift

INVENTED sad girl winter.

River – Olivia Rodrigo

I hadn’t heard this song before Olivia sung it and it’s something I did not know I needed. Her vocals are magic on this track.

Forever Winter – Taylor Swift

Upbeat song with sad lyrics? Yes please. This song specifically transports me back to last winter when I first heard it.

New Year’s Day – Taylor Swift

What better way to close the album than a song that transitions right into the new year. :)

Happy Winter!
