Stranger Things Season 2 (Spoiler-Free)

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at NCAT chapter.

Unless you live under a rock, I’m sure you’ve heard the buzz about the new season of Stranger Things. Seems like everyone’s itching to know, “Is it as good as the first season?” Well cancel your plans for the night and prepare to binge watch because my answer to that is HECK YEAH!

Now don’t get me wrong, nothing can compare to the chiller suspense and puzzling mystery of season one. However, season two does a great job at delivering the same eerie nostalgia while expanding the story with more insight that’ll have you glued to the screen. Mike and Luke look a bit taller, Dustin’s teeth finally grew in, and Will (sort of) looks back to normal. There are some flaws I recognized (cough-episode 7-cough) but I’m so invested in this storyline and characters that I couldn’t help loving it. Stranger Things is a perfect example of how to evolve a series while staying true to what made the first season so great, which is something Netflix tends to lack when revamping their original shows. Season two will delight fans by giving them more of what initially captured their attention, as well as introducing new characters and revealing darker plot twists. Stranger Things 2 is definitely bringing something other than Eggos to the plate.

Hi everyone! I am a sophomore at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University who should be majoring in Weddings, but is actually a Journalism & Mass Communications student with a concentration in Multimedia. Originally I am from Woodbridge, Virginia, which is about 30 minutes south of our nation’s capital. I have lived here all my life, but I’m not afraid to branch out and explore the world. This past summer I studied abroad in Sydney, Australia to engage and immerse myself in Australian culture. The experience was phenomenal and I’m already counting down the days until I can return that beautiful country. Check out my Tumblr, Instagram, Pinterest, and Facebook.
