Put It On A Playlist: A Semester in Italy

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at NCAT chapter.

If you know me, you know I love myself a good playlist. There’s a playlist for every mood, every function, & every outfit- believe it or not. A playlist is a form of documentation, stating the facts of your feelings, thoughts, & inner vibes.

That’s why before I even left the States I decided to keep track of all the songs I hear and feel along this journey. I’ve been to three different countries, numerous cities and provinces, seen a plethora of outfits, walked different neighborhoods, and from it all I’ve found the urgency to compile these experiences together to share.

Some songs I’ve heard in the clubs and some have been released since I’ve been here. Others have been felt or heard while sitting on the metro, browsing stores, or sitting in bars and cafes. Nothing is too much of the same, some throwbacks, and a couple foreign tracks, is the recipe for a great playlist.

Either way, it all shares the journey. Take a listen.

Hi everyone! I am a sophomore at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University who should be majoring in Weddings, but is actually a Journalism & Mass Communications student with a concentration in Multimedia. Originally I am from Woodbridge, Virginia, which is about 30 minutes south of our nation’s capital. I have lived here all my life, but I’m not afraid to branch out and explore the world. This past summer I studied abroad in Sydney, Australia to engage and immerse myself in Australian culture. The experience was phenomenal and I’m already counting down the days until I can return that beautiful country. Check out my Tumblr, Instagram, Pinterest, and Facebook.
