On Sunday Night, the 61st Annual Grammy Awards aired on CBS hosted by Alicia Keys. Surprisingly,  all of my favorite artist won big that night. Cardi B won Best Rap Album, H.E.R won Best R&B Album, Childish Gambino won Song of the Year and Recorded of the Year. For me, the best part about watching the Grammys isn’t for the winners but for the performances! Â

3. Chloe x Halle
 Â
Â
When you mix beautifulness, sweetness, and the voices of angels you get Chloe and Halle. On Sunday night, they paid tribute to Donny Hathaway and I’m sure this performance would make him proud. They sung one of his most famous songs “ Where is the Love”. They sung so effortlessly that it could have been their own song. They perform it with great stage presence as if they belong on the Grammy stage and they do. The only thing I wish was different was that tt was longer because I could listen to them sing all day. Â
 2. H.E.R
Â
When I hear H.E.R sing, I get the best feeling. The feeling of hearing R&B being great again.
H.E.R sung “Hard Place” from her new EP “I Used to Know Her: Part 2”. The performance highlighted all of her talents, her singing and her guitar playing. Her guitar solo was almost as impressive as her voice. This is one artist that doesn’t need any dancers or extra lights. Just her voice, guitar and a mic and I hope she never changes.
3. Brandi Carlile
Brandi Carlile was nominated for some of the biggest awards of the night but I have never heard the song she performed or heard her singing. In my opinion, it was the best of the night. “Wow” was one of my thoughts. The song, “ The Joke” was even more powerful. While she was singing the chores, you see the words of the song flash on the screen behind her “Let them laugh while they can / Let them spin, let them scatter in the wind / I have been to the movies / I’ve seen how it ends / And the joke’s on them.”  What really stood out to me was her voice, moving and powerful, her vocals were flawless. Her performance was the most memorable of the night.
