Why we love Jung Beauty’s 2-step steaming hair treatment

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Nanyang Tech chapter.

I love dyeing my hair and giving myself a new look every once in a while. However, as a result of the dye and bleaching, my hair has been extremely dry and damaged. The use of hot tools only made matters worse. To say that my hair was in a dire need of a pick-me-up would be an understatement.

There’s nothing quite like hair fresh out of the salon — the feeling of running your fingers through silky smooth hair, the smell of salon shampoo and your hair looking shinier than ever. But, being a broke university student, it is hard to achieve that feeling without breaking the bank. If you’re looking for a pocket-friendly alternative to salon treatments, Jung Beauty’s 2 Step Steaming Hair Spa is here to help!

The company claims that this steaming hair spa treatment would help to deliver vitamins and silk amino acids into dry and damaged hair, by providing intense hydration for healthy and luscious hair. I was previously skeptical of at-home treatments. How can a $50 at-home kit truly substitute a $100 salon treatment? When Jung Beauty kindly gifted us a sample, I decided to give it a shot and I’m now a convert.

From the get-go, the cost is a great upside. The product comes in an adorable pink box with 5 packets, each for one treatment. When you divide up the cost of 1 treatment, it only costs $10. Talk about value for money!

What I love most about the product is its ease and convenience. The instructions on the box were easy to follow and everything was pretty smooth sailing. I was initially worried that all of my hair wouldn’t be able to fit in or that the tiny sticker wouldn’t be able to keep the cap on my head as my hair is pretty long and heavy, but it managed to stay on throughout the first step.

Furthermore, the innovation of a self-steaming hair mask makes it extremely convenient as everything you need is in the box. Most at-home hair steaming treatments require certain pieces of equipment which can be pretty costly and troublesome, defeating the purpose of even doing it yourself.

I was also impressed with how smooth and silky my hair felt and looked after the treatment. After drying my hair, I noticed my hair looking visibily shinier and less frizzy. The added steaming effect of the product really helped to repair my damaged hair by allowing the mask to be better absorbed as compared to other hair treatments that I have tried.

Overall, I had a pleasant experience using the product and had great results with it. I would definitely be re-using the product and adding it to my haircare routine!
