This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Mville chapter.

Name: Victoria Oluwole

Age: 19

Major: Digital Media

Minor: Marketing

Favorite Video Games:

“Animal Crossing, Skyrim, Mortal Kombat, Grand Theft Auto, The Sims.”

Favorite movies:

“Gone Girl was the shit. I really liked straight outta Compton. I also like mocking jay part 2. Star wars I didn’t see yet but I want to. I know I’m going to die if I see it. But at least if I do I’ll die happy.”

Why do you always play animal crossing?

“It’s weird you’d think the video game is for babies, but It actually has a mature life like concept to it. You literally have to work, you have to pay off the mortgage for your house, you actually have responsibilities. Like its real bro. You have to develop relationships with the neighbors in your town.”

Interesting Fact:

“Let’s just say I used to be a musician. When I was in the 3rd grade I played the recorder and then the fourth grade I switched to violin. I stuck with that for two years. In the 6th grade I switched to the upright bass and stuck with that up until freshman year of college. I’m still deciding whether or not I want to continue pursuing the bass instrument.”

Favorite food:

“I don’t have a favorite food. I like all foods. Food is my friend. Actually not all foods. Just put like… yeah whatever.”

What are the 3 most important things to you?

“My family is one, my friends are another, and my boyfriend who’s interviewing me right now.”

How did you decide your major?

“How I came to decide my major? You really wanna know? While I was in the orchestra in junior high school, a few students including myself were asked to be a part of the orchestra pit band for one of the musicals. So basically during one of the show nights I was sitting in the pit and watching the people who were managing everything backstage and making sure the transitions from scene to scene ran smoothly. I figured I wanted to try that out in high school. Freshman year of high school came, I asked to be a part of the upcoming musical we had going on and so when I talked to the director of the musical she told me I could help out and eventually I was promoted to the stage manager. So after the first musical of freshman year was over, I stuck with the stage management up until senior year. Then one day I asked myself “Hey why not apply the skills I have now to working on movie sets, rather than plays.” Once college came, I joined film club on campus and as my experience grew within film club as well as the classes I was taking, I realized my passion lied in film and film production. Spring semester of freshman year I had declared my major as digital media production.”
