Hell Pore Face Cleanser

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Mville chapter.

After numerous Buzzfeed and beauty blogger videos, I couldn’t help but think, “man, maybe I should order that!” So what did any other self respecting college student do? I went to amazon, ordered it, and waited a month for it to come in the mail.

The Hell Pore face cleanser is created by Elizavecca, and shipped out of South Korea. I’m not new to ordering things from overseas and having a long wait for them; I’m a frequenter of wish.com, so the far away shipping address didn’t scare me.

The day is came, I happily skipped back to my dorm room, after a pleasant visit with the post office, and waited for classes to end before I put it on with one of my roommates. At first, we weren’t sure of what we were supposed to do. It came with a few samples, one in the shape of the Pokemon Togepi, but none of the samples were in English. In fact the back of the bottle wasn’t in English either, so  we winged it, and assumed it went on like any other face mask.

Luckily for us, we weren’t wrong! We squeezed out the grey face mask, and made sure to evenly apply it to our face. I decided to cover my entire face, and my roommate chose to cover her nose and cheeks only – we both have rather sensitive skin, and she was afraid of having an allergic reaction on her entire face, a challenge I gladly accepted.

After about twenty minutes the mask begins to dry, to the point where I couldn’t talk, move my mouth, or even raise my eyebrows.  I was able to peel off the mask in almost one take, and while it hurt, it definitely wasn’t the worst pain I had felt on my face. My face got red when it came off, but quickly went away. The same thing happened for my roommate, and we assumed it was jut from the initial ripping off of the mask. My pores were definitely cleaner, but I messed up big time. My biggest regret was not allowing my pores to close before going to bed, and lying now on my super messy and not washed pillow case. Because my pores were so vulnerable to the dirt and grime, and I did break out after that. It definitely wasn’t because of the face mask though, my roommate’s face didn’t break out at all, and I truly attribute my break out to my dirty pillow case.

I would highly recommend this mask to anyone who’s been thinking of trying it, and I can’t wait to try again!
