This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Mville chapter.

The pop queen of this generation, Ariana Grande has done it again with her fifth album, thank u, next which released February 8th. With this album she has proven once again that God is most definitely a woman and her name is Ariana Grande. The mix of up-beat, relatable, girl-power influenced songs with a few ballads sets the tone for Grande’s best album yet. Here is the breakdown on the standout songs on the album.

Track number 2 needy may be the shortest song on the album, but it is the most relatable. It about being needy towards someone you’re talking to or dating because of being damaged in the past. With an incredible beat and vocals Grande really spoke to her fans with needy.

NASA is the third song on the album and it stands out because it is all about being an independent woman trying to find herself without a man. And it is everything that any young women needs to hear.

ghostin hit everyone in their Mac Miller feels. The song is obviously a beautiful ballad about the late rapper who Grande shared a long friendship and relationship with. As well as a message to Pete Davidson for being understanding about the death of her ex boyfriend. This is definitely the tear jerker on the album.

Of course 7 rings is one of the stand out songs on the album. The song was everywhere when Grande released it a few weeks ago. Grande was already queen but after this song it took her to a new level. Despite the controversy this song makes everyone feel girly, ready to dance and well poor.

This single gave the entire album it’s sound and title. thank u, next is probably the most iconic song on the album. It broke records around the world and gave us one of the best music videos of the year. Grande’s shout out to all her ex’ helped so many people get over their own heart break. So we love her for that.

Last but not least break up with your girlfriend, im bored is the song that everyone is talking about. Especially the music video that had an LGBTQ positive ending that everyone was loving. We’ve all been in that situation when you see the cutest person but they’re in a relationship!!
