Arianna Grande and Mac Miller

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Mville chapter.

On Friday, September 7th 2018, Mac Miller was pronounced dead in his Los Angeles, California home due to a suspected overdose. 26-year-old rapper broke the hearts of not only his friends and family, but his fans as well. Many heartbroken and shocked fans took to twitter to announce that former ex-girlfriend Ariana Grande, was responsible for his death due to their “toxic relationship” in the past. Many swarmed over Grande’s social media accounts leaving her with hurtful comments such as, “this is all your fault,” and “you should be ashamed of yourself.” Sources say that she completely broke down after she found out about Mac and cannot believe he is not here anymore. She claims he was such a special person to her, as stated in her tribute to Mac on Instagram. She wrote, “I adored you from the day I met you when I was nineteen and I always will. I can’t believe you are not here anymore. I really cannot wrap my head around it. We talked about this. So many times. I am so mad, I am so sad,I do not know what to do. You were my dearest friend. For so long. Above anything else. I am so sorry I could not fix or take your pain away. I really wanted to. The kindest, sweetest soul with demons he never deserved. I hope you are okay now. Rest.” As many are still continuing to mourn over his sudden passing, Mac’s legacy in the music world will never be forgotten.
