Spring may have awakened the sun, but it surely hasn’t brought too much warmth!
Everywhere else in the U.S. may be screaming “Hooray!” for spring , but East Coasters like us are still dealing with the Northeast’s bipolar weather. One day it’s a beautiful sunny, yet crisp 50 degrees and the next it’s snowing all over again. The back and forth change in the weather is bound to make us sick due to the fact we change our clothes based on the temperature, but here are five winter essentials you should consider keeping in your wardrobe this spring.
5. Sweaters
Many people think once spring is here that sweaters are completely out of the question. Yes, you may want to stop wearing your amazingly warm wool sweater your grandmother made, but you should also embrace some of your lighter knit sweaters. Anything with thinner material is still acceptable in the spring, especially on days when it’s still a bit breezy.
4. Beanies
Beanies are not only meant to keep your head warm in the winter. Just because it’s no longer -19 degrees outside doesn’t mean it’s not considered beanie weather. Beanies give off a comfortable, casual vibe. Plus, they’re available in a variety of fun colors, making them completely acceptable to wear any time of year!
3. Scarves
Scarves are a huge fashion statement and can be transformed for a million different uses in fashion. Swap out your knit scarves for thin cotton or silk ones. They spice up any outfit, and if a bit of spring breeze hits you’ll still have neck protection.
2. Boots
Many people think boots are only fashionable in the fall and the winter. But you should probably hold off placing them into their boxes for now. Boots can still look nice in warm weather, even with a nice sundress.
1. Layers
Layering can still be a thing even when the temperature spikes. There is no shame in wearing a basic tee, a cardigan and a cute denim jacket. It’s not scorching hot outside yet and the nights will still be chilly, so layer up! You can also remove a layer throughout the day without worrying about being too hot or too cold.
