Oftentimes when we think of abuse, we think of physical injury. But the evidence of domestic abuse is not limited to bruises and contusions. Words can be just as harmful, and verbal abuse is much harder to detect by both the person being abused and their loved ones. 

 

Here are eight signs of physiological and emotional abuse to watch out for in your friends relationships as well as your own.

Withholding affection to punish you
Insulting you or calling you names.
Damaging your belongings.
Controlling where you go or who you hang out with.
Being overly jealous.
Lying to you.
