15 Things to Get Excited For This Fall

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Murray State chapter.

Everyone’s favorite season is right around the corner… that’s right, FALL! The time of the year where we dress the cutest, take the cutest pictures, and eat the most candy. There are so many exciting things about Fall; each and every one of them will cause you to let your basic side show more and more. If for some reason you are one of those people who completely despise the season let me remind you of why it is the best and if you love the season let me remind you why it makes you feel so warm and cozy on the inside.

1. HALLOWEEN!!!

Fall means it is time to get spooky. Dressing up, watching the movies that make your skin crawl, and eating all that candy. How could you not be excited?

2. Football Season!

If Halloween isn’t enough to tickle your fall fancy, football season definitely will! Who doesn’t love getting decked out in their schools colors and supporting their team, even if they do lose?

3. Pumpkin Spice EVERYTHING!

Drinks, candles, foods, clothing, EVERYTHING! Anything and everything can be pumpkin spiced in the Fall. If you can think it, you can find it pumpkin spiced.

4. Cool Weather

After a blazing hot summer there is nothing more refreshing than walking outside on a Fall morning and be able to breathe without having a heat stroke.

5. THE LEAVES!!!

Fall leaves are the best. Crunchy, colorful, and cool. Walking outside is magical. You get to have a first hand experience of the world changing right before your eyes.

6. The Clothing

During Fall you can wear such a diverse selection of clothing. Leggings, distressed jeans, booties, cardigans… My personal favorites include a romper with tights paired with a cardigan and some cute booties!

7. Pumpkin Patches

What girl doesn’t love a basic Fall date to a pumpkin patch? Finding the perfect pumpkin to take home is so exciting and causes for some super cute Fall pictures!

8. Bonfires

Sitting around a fire with friends is amazing at any time of the year, but its the best during Fall. The cool weather makes sitting around a bonfire comfortable and perfect for roasting s’mores and reminiscing with your best friends.

9. Black Friday

Ah, the biggest shopping day of the year. Sales upon sales upon sales. Who doesn’t love that Black Friday rush? Who doesn’t love shopping for good deals?

10. Cyber Monday

As if Black Friday isn’t enough or if you just didn’t have time to get out there, you ALWAYS have Cyber Monday to look forward to. Deals continue online the Monday after Black Friday; that way you can get the most for your money and get some early Christmas shopping done.

11. Thanksgiving

Even if Fall isn’t your thing, Thanksgiving is always something to look forward to. Food, friends, family, and giving thanks for all the things we take for granted most other days of the year. Oh, and did I mention food?

12. All The Bugs Die

Mosquito bites are a thing of the past in during the fall. Bugs are the worst part of Spring and Summer and the lack of bugs is one of the best parts of Fall.

13. Haunted Houses

Haunted houses give you that adrenaline rush that you yearn for all year long. Holding on to your friends or significant other can be exciting and scary all at once.

14. Hayrides

The only thing to not like about a hayride is the small bits of hay that slip into your shoes, but you know you secretly still love it anyways.

15. The Community

Last, but certainly not least, my personal favorite part of Fall is the community it brings. Fall festivals, Greek philanthropy events, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, and raising money for charities becomes extremely prominent in the Fall months. The community really comes together to bring fun to all Fall related festivities. It just makes you all warm and cozy inside. Hugs are definitely encouraged during the Fall season.
