Whether you’re in a relationship, or you’re single on Valentine’s Day, a romantic movie marathon is the perfect way to end the holiday. Here are 8 great movie options, no matter what your plans are!

The Notebook

This is a classic sappy, movie about love. Any movie starring Ryan Gosling is a perfect way to spend Valentine’s Day with your best friends curled up on the couch with pajamas and snacks.

500 Days of Summer

This is one of my personal favorites. It is heartbreaking and hopeful all at once. The main character, Summer, played by Zoe Deschanel does not believe in love, but her love interest (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) is determined to be with her. If you’re looking for a comical take on love, this movie is for you!

She’s the Man

This is a romantic comedy that can brighten up your day. The main character Viola (Amanda Bynes) pretends to be her brother at his boarding school while he is out of the country. There, she plays on the soccer team disguised as her brother and falls in love with one of her teammates, Duke (Channing Tatum).

Brokeback Mountain

This heartbreaking film about love that will bring you to tears. The storyline follows two cowboys played by Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal who fall in love, but ultimately cannot be together.  This movie is another staple that you can watch with your friends!

10 Things I Hate About You

This movie also stars a young Heath Ledger and it perfectly portrays a classic high school love story. At first the two characters, Patrick and Kat hate each other, but in the end, they cannot deny the feelings that they have for one another.

50 First Dates

If you’re spending Valentine’s Day having a quiet night at home then this is the ideal movie to watch! It could be considered a “chick flick” with the countless romantic and sappy moments, but Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler are the perfect pair.

The Great Gatsby (2013)

The newest version of The Great Gatsby depicts an unexpected love affair between Jay Gatsby and Daisy. This movie is filled with amazing cinematic elements and a dramatic plot line that you will not be able to take your eyes off of.

Easy A

This is another one of my favorites. Easy A is an unconventional choice for Valentine’s Day. Emma Stone plays Olive, a student in high school that spreads a lie about losing her virginity, and soon everyone in the school knows. Throughout this whole persona that she is trying to keep, Olive begins to get feelings for one of her childhood friends and their relationship unfolds from there.

Happy Valentine’s Day!
