How to Transform Outfits from Daytime to Nighttime

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Muhlenberg chapter.

Have you ever been too lazy to choose two different outfits for a single day: casual for the day and sexy for the night? Do you not have enough clothes at college to wear two separate outfits each day? Or, maybe you don’t have enough time to change your whole ensemble after work or school before going out with friends. Well, I’ve got you covered. Below are a few tips on how to rock the same outfit all day by simply and quickly altering it to work as both daytime and nighttime wear.

Shoes

Shoes are a marvelous way to easily liven up your appearance. You can go from boring work flats to jaw-dropping heels in a split of a second!  There are a variety of options when it comes to shoes. For example, you can sport bright-colored stilettos, or if you want to be a little more comfortable while still making a bold statement, you can wear a pair of sexy wedges.

Cheap Accessories

You can easily glam up your outfit by adding a few cute accessories, such as a small handbag or a piece of fashion jewelry. But, hold on! Your handbag doesn’t always have to be a plain colored handbag. You can make any outfit look unique with a handbag that contains some form of embellishments, such as studs or chain links!

Scarfs

A scarf can indisputably spice up your daytime clothing. Not only is a scarf perfect for adding some flair to your outfit, but it is also useful in case it gets chilly at night. Bold patterns such as cheetah or flowers will make it appear as though you’ve been planning that getup for hours.

Tights, Leggings and Knee-Highs, Oh My!

Tights or leggings can be an attractive ad-on to your daytime look. You can also wear knee-highs to dramatize your look for the night. Just like scarves, leg attire is also great for keeping you warm during the brisk night! If you contrast the colors of the tights or leggings with your dress or skirt, your legs will be sure to stand out!

I hope these tips will allow you to spice up your wardrobe for this upcoming Fall! Happy Styling!
