Best Red Carpet Looks Of This Awards Season

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Muhlenberg chapter.

This year’s red carpet fashion looks blew all of the previous years out of the water. The platform not only provided a celebration of fashion, culture, and beauty, but also made room for innovation and change in the industry. It has sparked social change as well, and with that, national conversations in Hollywood even created a fashion blackout at the Golden Globes in response to the #MeToo movement. Here are some of the best looks of 2018.

Lady Gaga at Venice Film Festival

Even through the downpour at the festival, Lady Gaga posed beautifully while sporting an enormously fluffy feathered dress, created by Valentino Haute Couture. Only an iconic popstar, and now actress, like herself could pull this one off!

Issa Rae at the CFDA Awards

As the first black woman to host the CDFA awards, Rae stunned all audiences in gorgeous pieces by black designers. Her sea blue jumpsuit by Kerby Jean-Raymond’s Pyer Moss sparkled and shined throughout the night.

Chrissy Metz at the SAG Awards

At this ceremony, all three leading woman in the hit show This Is Us showed up in cobalt blue. Metz showed off a custom Kate Spade New York gown with a beautifully tiered skirt and intricate flower embellishments.

Tiffany Haddish at the Emmys

Her famous dress has received a lot of attention from the press and public. Haddish paid homage to her father’s home country with a custom Pradal Gurung dress inspired by the Eritrean flag.

Sabrina Carpenter at Z100’s Jingle Ball in New York

The former Disney Star wowed audiences with a gorgeous sequined jumpsuit with a black cloth wrap-around. This mirror-coated Moschino design was an incredible way to spice up her night.
