As an East Tennessee native, it is not a surprise that many of my peers and I have been to Dollywood on several occasions. Going there was a fieldtrip almost every single year and as someone who has been going almost annually for 10 years, I think it is safe to say that I have the liberty to rate the rides. Do not worry though! I made a survey for my Dolly-rollercoaster loving friends as well, and this is the general consensus we have come to.

The Wild Eagle

I remember the day I first rode the Wild Eagle as if it were yesterday. It is easily one of the smoothest rollercoasters I have ever ridden. Many of my friends agree. Most have shared that it has been their favorite since it was built, and they ride it every single time they go. With a lack of flooring under your feet, you are gliding through the air like – well an eagle. It is by far the biggest drop at Dollywood, and it is a must-ride if you visit. Soaring through the air in Pigeon Forge, TN at 61mph as if you were flying right next to the local birds is a magical experience, and I would rate this ride a 10/10.

The Fire Chaser

The Fire Chaser was one of my favorite rides from my last visit. Going a whopping 35mph at its peak speed, it is not one for thrill seekers, but it is fun nonetheless. This fire station themed ride shoots you backwards after a firey “explosion.” It is an easier ride for people getting used to the idea of riding rollercoasters but still holds a lot of thrill for those accompanying them. This ride is an 8/10, losing two points for the sweat it caused me when the explosion happened.

The Tennessee Tornado

The Tennessee Tornado is not one for the faint of heart. Two loops at an insane 70mph speed can take a toll. My friends love it though, and so do I. I would not recommend this for children around the elementary school age only because the speed can cause some sliding in the seat. I rode it in 5th grade and got a little bruised from it. Other than that, every single time I have ridden it I am always running on pure adrenaline for at least 30 minutes after.

Rating: 8/10, Do not eat beforehand…

These are the 3 most popular rides between my rollercoaster riding friends and I. If you visit, I would definitely recommend so many more, however, these are the top 3 must rides at the park. Happy Dolly week!
