On June 3, 2017 my first Glossier order arrived. It was a fateful day in which I began to explore a brand that I have come to love and rely on for my daily skincare and beauty routines. Glossier is a brand created by CEO and founder Emily Weiss and has come to feature products for both healthy, happy skin and natural, true-to-you makeup. Over the past couple of years, I have come to acquire a large collection of Glossier products. It’s been every birthday wish and reason behind the lightening of my wallet, but it’s worth it. In this article, I’ll share my three all-time favorite Glossier products that I “could not live without!”

Gold: Cloud Paint

Number one, G.O.A.T., the light of my life—Cloud Paint. Cloud Paint is Glossier’s blush. Glossier describes it on their website as follows, “With Cloud Paint, we set out to make blush the high point of your routine. The pillowy, gel-cream formula is designed to be the most user-friendly cheek color in existence. If you can finger paint, you can Cloud Paint—simply dab it onto cheeks wherever you please. It’s seamless, sheer, and buildable (i.e. it’s hard to accidentally apply too much). Inspired by gradient pink NYC sunsets, the shades are optimized to work across a wide range of skin tones for a healthy, flushed-from-within glow.”

My experience with Cloud Paint has been a dream. Growing up, my mom would sometimes look at me in concern when my complexion would appear pale, sort of dull, and sallow. There was nothing wrong with me, and I laugh about it now. I guess I just needed a bit of color. Most mornings I apply a little bit of Cloud Paint to my fingertip and dab it on my cheeks. Thanks to my favorite Instagram makeup artist Ash Walker’s advice, I know to also put blush on the upper forehead and nose for a wholly sunned look. She also will put Cloud Paint on her lips or eyelids. Check her out! If you like the red-tinged look that comes after crying (some people do), shades storm or haze on your lids will work to that effect. Sometimes, I mix two shades on the back of my hand. It’s extremely easy to apply and a little goes a long way! I’ve had Cloud Paint in the shade Beam since that very first order, almost two years ago, and it’s nowhere near finished. I have the shades Beam, Puff, Haze, and Dawn. They are all absolutely gorgeous and a perfect for an added flush to my face. Love, love, love!

Silver: Priming Moisturizer

Second best, so essential, my ride-or-die—Priming Moisturizer. Priming Moisturizer is, clearly, Glossier’s moisturizer. It’s advertised as follows: “‘Priming’ means that it instantly brings out the best in your skin, so you have a fresh, glowing canvas that’s ready for makeup (but looks so good you might want to wear less). The ideal base for Perfecting Skin Tint, it visibly plumps skin up with moisture to create cushiony bounce and an even texture, which helps minimize the appearance of pores—minus any heavy blurring ingredients. The anti-redness complex soothes and evens skin tone, leaving a clean, dewy, balanced finish. This comforting cream allows you to layer and build up to the perfect amount of moisture depending on climate, season, or how your skin’s feeling on any given day.”

I’ve never used the Priming Moisturizer under Perfecting Skin Tint or any other tint, concealer, or foundation, because I don’t use them. Priming Moisturizer is the star of the show for me. I wouldn’t necessarily say it minimizes appearance of pores, though it may help base makeup to do so. However, it does make my skin dewy, glowy, and it has reduced some redness. Occasionally, I’ll break out around the sensitive skin of my nose and in the morning it can be rather irritated. Putting on Priming Moisturizer physically feels soothing and usually helps to tame redness. Since I started using Priming Moisturizer, my friends and family started to tell me that my skin looked bright and healthy. My skin feels less dry and tight, and it glows more than it ever did without Priming Moisturizer. It’s a staple for me that makes me feel confident and ready for each day.

Bronze: Balm Dot Com

In my pocket, my bag, in my car, on my dresser, everywhere and anywhere—Balm Dot Com. There are so many lip balms out there, I’ve undoubtedly used my fair share of Lip Smackers, EOS, and Burt’s Bees. Still, Glossier’s Balm Dot Com takes the cake for me. The company describes it as, “A hydrating, long-lasting, multipurpose lip balm and skin salve that’s packed with antioxidants and natural emollients to nourish and repair dry, chafed skin. The dense, waxy texture stays in place to seal in moisture wherever it goes. Opt for Original, or choose from six mood-enhancing flavors: Birthday (inspired by Milk Bar’s famous cake, with subtle shimmer), Rose (with a barely-there pink tint), Cherry (with a sheer, juicy red tint), Mint, Coconut, and Mango. The lip-smacking 11-year-old in you is freaking out right now. Collect them all!”

I squeeze Balm Dot Com onto my fingertip and apply it onto my lips that way. It’s smooth and so comfortable. As opposed to balms that are swiped onto the lips from scrollable packaging, Balm Dot Com feels more cushioning to me. With other lip balms I’ve felt like I was having to swipe, and swipe, and swipe, to feel like my lips were covered and comfy. Sometimes they were too oily or too waxy. Balm Dot Com is just right, it feels like the silkiest salve. Additionally, they smell amazing. I have Mint, Birthday, Cherry, Rose, Coconut, and Original. My favorite is mint because of its cooling effect, but Cherry’s tint and Birthday’s shimmer are fun, too. Rose and coconut smell like happiness, and original is classic. While I mostly use it on my lips, Balm Dot Com can be applied pretty much anywhere, see “universal skin salve” on the packaging. Original is great on the cuticles. I take a Balm Dot Com with me everywhere, and I daresay my lips will never be chapped again.

My favorite pro-tip is buying The Skincare Set, which contains Priming Moisturizer, Milky Jelly Cleanser, and Balm Dot Com and is cheaper than buying each product individually. Essentially, when you buy the set you get a free Balm Dot Com. I use Priming Moisturizer and Milky Jelly regularly (it was really hard not putting Milky Jelly in this article, I positively adore it)!

If you know me, you know I love everything Glossier. I hadn’t really explored makeup or skincare much before it, but ended up finding products that were perfect for me and my daily routines. I could go on and on about all of their other products that I love, but I have to exercise restraint. If you’ve been considering Glossier, I hope this article gives you some idea to go off of. If you’ve never heard of it, welcome!
