Christmas Activities to Do While Wearing Essie’s Winter 2019 Collection

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Mt Holyoke chapter.

Essie recently came out with their Winter 2019 Collection of nail colors. I thought I’d write a bit about these colors and pair them with different Christmas-y winter traditions, just for fun! Of course, matching your nail polish to what you may be doing is pretty over-the-top, but it’s the holidays. Why not?

Decorate the Tree in “under wraps”

Essie’s nail polish in shade “under wraps” is a glittery pine green color, with deep blue/green undertones and delicate gold shimmers. This is the perfect nail color to wear while decorating the Christmas tree. Your nails will match the beautiful boughs and will add the perfect, festive detail to whatever you are wearing.

Take a Sleigh Ride or Go Sledding in “knotty or nice”

“Knotty or nice” is a blue-toned, glittering red. This nail color would look positively radiant against a snowy white landscape. It’s the candy cane vibe.

Make Clove Oranges in “caught on tape”

A clove orange is an orange studded with stars of clove, that gives off a delicious, cozy, Christmas scent. Clove oranges can decorate the home in a variety of ways and places to make the space smell like festivity. Essie’s “caught on tape” is a wonderful shade for this citrusy activity, a glorious warm gold with red undertones.

Drink Hot Cocoa in “let it bow”

What could be better than matching your marshmallows? “Let it bow” is a delicate, glittery white that would be lovely for a night in watching Christmas movies, hands warmed by a mug of hot cocoa.

Take a Winter Walk at Night in “tied and blue”

This Essie nail polish is a glittering, deep blue shade that closely resembles a winter’s night sky. One of my favorite winter activities is taking a walk in the cold with my family around my town’s green. Call me crazy, but I do actually love the cold and night walks feel very special. The world is completely at peace and it’s valuable time with the people I love. If you are able to venture out with someone after sunset, I highly recommend it, especially in this nail color!

Christmas Eve in “making spirits bright”

In my opinion, silver is the perfect color to wear to any Christmas Eve festivities. It’s nighttime, so you’re working with natural shades of dark blue. Silver also perfectly matches any Christmas color scheme you might be wearing. This nail polish, a cool-toned glitter silver, would compliment any outfit and would truly shine on the night before Christmas.

There you have it, folks. I hope you got a kick out of this article, and will consider checking out Essie’s new nail polishes. Even if you don’t celebrate Christmas, you may still partake in some of these activities and I have no doubt you will be stunning in these nail colors!
