Selena Gomez released her new album titled Rare this past month. Gomez reached some new records while telling her ‘truth’. Selena explains this album to be her way of letting go of the past while many people believe this is just another album where she addresses issues in her previous relationship with Justin Bieber. Selena has been in the spotlight for years. Though at times she keeps a low profile, she always has her fans by her side. Her new album Rare has been doing well in the charts, but she has the public believing this album is centered around ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber.

Bieber fans are extremely hurt by this because they feel like Selena is always trying to use their previous relationship for more publicity and fame. Selena has accused Justin of being abusive and mentally harming her, but fans always come to his side. With all that being said let’s talk about Selena’s new album. My friends and I listened to the album immediately after it was released. We carefully went through each song and picked out our favorites, but after that night we never listened to them again. I know that’s mean to say, but it’s the truth – her album doesn’t have anything that truly grabs my attention. It could be because most of her songs are about Justin and it’s honestly tiring. She needs to channel something else when creating new music.

Although, I do acknowledge the hard work Selena has put into this album. As a fan of Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez, I must be honest and say her whole album relates back to their relationship. I know they have both made music in the past about their relationship, but its been years. Justin is married and has moved on and I feel like Selena should try to move on from her past with Justin and work on her future. She will shine brighter and be stronger when she learns to let things from the past go. For a full review on Selena’s album visit Album Review: Rare by Selena Gomez By Molly Concannon.
