Trendy Spring/Summer Colors to Add to Your Wardrobe

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Montclair chapter.

For those looking to stand out this spring/summer, then it’s time for you to take out your bright and pastel colors! If you need a major closet update of playful colors, then I’m here to help. Each new year calls for new trendy colors so take a look at this colorful list of ideas to be spring/summer ready!

  1. Aquamarine Blue

This should be your go-to color this spring/summer! This shade of blue is the most flattering/trendy this year. The inspiration for wearing this color was taken from Santorini. If you love traveling and need advice on spring/summer clothing for photoshoots, this color is your best bet. You will attract so much attention on the beach since you will match the water and let the sun bring out the brightness of the color. It even complements a tan and can be paired with other spring/summer colors like yellow, white and pink hues. This gorgeous spring/summer color will surely turn heads so consider adding it to your wardrobe.

  1. Baby/Pale Yellow

When you daydream about the summer, the first color that usually comes to mind is the golden sun. That bright yellow shade takes us back to those hot summer days on the beach. Well, what better way to be summer-ready than to wear and embrace that color in the warm weather? The trendy shade of yellow this spring/summer is a baby/pale tone that isn’t excessively bright but light enough to let you stand out.

The pale yellow complements skin tones better, especially once you get a tan. It appears to be classier and easier to style with neutral colors like beige, camel, black or white. Yellow is perfect to wear at the beach or alongside any body of water. You will match the pretty sunflowers that start to bloom and take those gorgeous yellow Instagram photos to make your feed more colorfully aesthetic.

  1. Coral

If you met me, you would know that I am super obsessed with spring/summer colors, and all I have been noticing for this year is coral just sitting in the windowsills of stores. This color will be perfect to wear at a marina or relaxing on a tropical beach. In fashion, coral occupies a middle ground between classic red and feminine pink. Plain old orange or wintry red can appear harsh against skin tones in the summer, whereas coral is warmer, making for a more flattering hue to wear in the summer sun. As we know, “lady in red” is such an attractive color so you will definitely stand out on your vacays this summer.

  1. White

Add more white to your wardrobe this spring/summer to bring out your tan! A classy white in the spring/summer is a must and will leave you feeling super confident. Wearing white will make you glow in the dark when the stars are out and you’re sitting on a dock watching the fireworks. It’s such a light and elegant color that can be dressed up or down. A little side tip: find a white lace romper or dress to wear for a fancy occasion if you want to look and feel your hottest in the spring/summer!

  1. Sage green

This color has been trending for a while and is yet to be out of style! Sage green is a gorgeous hue that should be shown off in the spring/summer. It is typically a visually appealing palette for spring/summer weddings since it is a soft and bright color. The color can be paired with neutral tones such as ivory, beige, white or cream since it is more of a greenish-gray tone. In the summertime, pairing this color with baby pink or sky blues can make the perfect color scheme for the season! Not only will you get with the color trends, but you will also stand out.

Get more color-friendly this spring/summer, and stand out amongst the flowers! If you take my advice, then you’ll be spring/summer-ready.
