It’s that time of year again… spring cleaning! I personally love going through my house, room and closet, purging items I no longer use. Although I enjoy the task once I’m actually doing it, it definitely takes some motivation to get me started.

Here are some tips for spring cleaning 2022:

  1. Play Some Music

Nothing gets me up and moving like a fire playlist. Make your own cleaning playlist, and I promise you it will help make the time fly by. I find that cleaning while listening to my favorite songs is therapeutic.

  1. Open The Windows

Smelling the fresh spring air is luxurious. Opening the windows while spring cleaning will help inspire you to tidy up for the warm weather ahead.

  1. Don’t Be Afraid To Donate/Throw Things Out

It can be difficult to part with belongings. However, my theory is if you no longer use or wear it, you should get rid of it. There is no better feeling than bringing a big bag of clothes to a donation box and knowing the things you no longer use are going somewhere they will be appreciated.

  1. Create A Schedule

It can seem super intimidating to clean your whole house. I recommend creating a schedule so you can visually see the work you need to do, and also map out when to do it so you do not overwhelm yourself in one day.

  1. Clean Your Laptop/Devices

As college students, we are always using our laptops. I like to use this time to deep clean my laptop as well as phone and any other devices that may need a good cleaning.

  1. Bathe/Groom Your Pets

Spring Cleaning isn’t just about us; sometimes our furry friends need some cleaning up as well. Use this time to clean your pets, whether that’s washing your dog, brushing your cat or even just changing your fish’s water.

  1.   Don’t Just Stop In The House, Clean Your Mind Too

In my opinion, spring cleaning doesn’t just mean cleaning your house but your life overall. Take this time to relax, read a book, take a bath and just do whatever you need to do to clean your mind.

  1. Make Cleaning Fun By Grabbing A Buddy

Having a sibling or friend help you clean can be super fun. You can take turns cleaning each other’s houses, catching up and having a great time.

I hope these tips will help make this year’s spring cleaning more enjoyable!
