From Runway to Campus — Recreate Sandy Liang’s NYFW SS19 Looks

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Montclair chapter.

For this season’s collection, Sandy Liang is mixing boring Winter colors such as gray, black and tan with fun Spring colors that include blues, pinks and greens. As usual, Liang crosses her fashion between genders, making her looks unique and androgynous.

Teddy Coat’s Sassy Little Sister

Sandy predicted teddy coats and its little sister, the teddy jacket. Below is her own design ($525) vs. my teddy jacket from American Eagle ($59.95).

Wild Thing

Have you noticed that animal prints are making a comeback? Snakeskin, leopard, cheetah and many other creatures are in both high and low-end stores today. Liang incorporated several different pieces with leopard prints.

Here’s one of Liang’s take on leopard print crop top ($125) + pink bucket hat ($175) vs. my Forever 21 bralette ($12) + my denim bucket hat from American Eagle ($17.95).Bucket hat + crop top + low-rise boyfriend jeans = the perfect Spring outfit

Weather Confused, but Make It Fashion

If you’re looking for a safer, everyday kind of look, a long sleeve crop top is your new best friend. Step out of the winter season; this look is 100% versatile. Pair it with shorts and flip-flops in the spring/summer or a jean jacket, black jeans and combat boots in the Winter. Liang’s top ($175) and mine is a part of the Don’t Ask Why Collection from American Eagle ($17.95).

Which new Spring trends are you willing to try?
