Two words: Passport Wonderland. Alice and Olivia’s 2019 Summer/Spring Collection by Stacey Bendet left everyone speechless! Where do I even begin? Before we even got to see the stunning collection created by the ever so fabulous Stacey Bendet, all attendees of the show boarded on a 74-foot yacht (which some guests get the privilege to actually stay aboard for only $59 a ticket! Like, whaaatttt??) at Chelsea Piers which was decorated in the theme of A+O’s spring collection. The yacht dropped off all guests at Pier 59 Studios which was decorated to mimic the beautiful essence of Italy, Paris, Morocco and London; all of which are the inspiration for the collection.
Ok, now it gets even crazier. All the models struck a pose throughout the studio dressed in Alice and Olivia’s spring collection accompanied by beautiful wallpapers and furniture to match all the patterns and designs of the garments — as she’s done for previous collections, too! The theme of the collection is “Passport Wonderland” which showcased all the perfect exotic pieces to wear while traveling abroad to countries like Italy and Morocco.
The collection consists of immaculate gowns and summer dresses that vary in a wide spectrum of bold colors from fluorescent yellow and red, to pastels like sky blue, lilac, and peach. These colors are consistent throughout each piece whether it be solid or incorporated into funky patterns, and we all know it wouldn’t be an Alice and Olivia collection if it didn’t have crazy patterns! Models had their hair done by Tresemme in which they added neon colored hair extensions to some of their ponytails giving it that Alice and Olivia spunk. Their makeup, done by Maybelline, mimicked Stacey Bendet’s iconic all-over eyeshadow look that were colored in electric blue and Stacey’s go-to: black.
As guests stroll from one room to another, they are visually blessed by beautifully intricate detail that may be considered too “over the top” for most people, but that’s totally on brand for Alice and Olivia, what else would you expect? In my opinion, this collection was absolutely exquisite and very well thought out. I’m lowkey a little jealous that I couldn’t witness the magic in person.
If you’re as stunned as I am, you’re probably thinking: how on Earth is Stacey Bendet going to top this in the future?? But then you remember, it’s Stacey Bendet we’re talking about, so she’ll continue to snatch our wigs each and every NYFW. I’m so ready!
