New Year’s Eve is always a very exciting day. People feel inspired to make a change in their lives for the better, and this year everyone’s just ready for this year to end. To make the celebration even better, you should look your best.

  1. Pick the perfect color.

A popular color for New Year’s Eve is always black, so that or another dark color would be a good place to start. That shouldn’t be your only color though. Since it’s a celebration you should add some sparkles to your look. Gold and silver are always a safe bet and can be easy to find, especially during the holiday season, but you can also add a pop of different colors if you would like.

  1. Dress the outfit up more with accessories.

It’s known that accessories can really make an outfit. One thing that can make an outfit look more dressed up and better for winter are black tights. They would look best with dark color, but like I said that’s usually what people wear on New Year’s Eve. You should also include jewelry though, such as a sparkly necklace or earrings. Depending on what you’re wearing, you can make the jewelry more of a statement. These accessories will hopefully add more of a shine or sparkle to your outfit and make you look ready to celebrate. Also, if you’re going out which is going to be fewer people this year, try to find a bag that goes with your colors, preferably the accent, and maybe the bag can have glitter on it too.

  1. Make sure you’re dressed up from head to toe.

The outfit wouldn’t be complete without the perfect shoes. My go-to is always black pumps because they’re classy and won’t distract from what’s going on on the top, but it depends on your preferences and what you’re wearing. You should stick to heels, nice flats or boots from thigh highs to ankle booties. Unless you’re not dressing up, sneakers won’t go with the look. Just know what you’re dressing for and if you’re spending the whole night standing, heels may not be the way to go.

  1. Add some boldness to your makeup.

Just like the colors of your outfit, usually, people do darker makeup for this Holiday. Smokey eyes are very common with a gold glitter lid, but you can do whatever you want, Just keep in mind when you do your makeup, if you do a bold eye you should do a neutral lip and if you do a bold lip you should do a more neutral eye. Doing a bold look on both can be too much and if you’re dressing up, doing a neutral look on both may not go with everything else.

  1. Make your hair match the vibe of your outfit.

Once you have your outfit and makeup done, finish the look by making sure your hair goes perfectly. If you’re going for a more classic look, doing an updo might be a good idea, but if you’re going for something more fun you can do something like big curls. When I think of a classic look I think of slicked back and sitting down having a nice conversation but with a more fun look, I think more of dancing and tossing your hair around, so think about your plans for the night.

New Year’s Eve is the last day of the year, so end on a high note, and don’t spend the day stressing out about how you’re going to look. Just wear what you’re in the mood for and what you’ll be happy in. You also don’t need to feel pressured to dress up, just wear what you want to celebrate in.
