I Wanna Be Rihanna: Rihanna Self-made Woman

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Montclair chapter.

Robyn Rihanna Fenty, also known as the famous singer and actress Rihanna from Barbados. As fans patiently waited for a new promised album, we slowly began to notice that she has become a successful businesswoman.

According to Fox Business, Rihanna is now number 33 with a net worth of $600 million. All thanks to her lingerie line Savage X Fenty and her cosmetic line Fenty Beauty in which she both co-owns.

At the age of 32, Rihanna has done numerous albums, starred in many movies, and is now creating products for women.

Creating Fenty Beauty, Rihanna wanted everyone to be able to find their color that represents them. Being a darker woman, I speak for myself when I say before Fenty Beauty, it was difficult for me to find a shade to match me when going for a nude look.

“We have this amazing emotional connection with customers who’ve never been able to find their shade of foundation before,” Rihanna said during a Vogue interview. “Women crying at the makeup counter, it’s crazy to even think about.”

Being a co-owner has its ups and downs like being unable to express yourself. Luckily, Rihanna has 100 percent involvement in her projects, she is able to visualize by having creative freedom.

Not only has Rihanna been racking up on her profits, but the co-owner of Fenty has even found time to give back. According to Fox News, Rihanna has also partnered with the CEO of Twitter to donate $4.2 million to domestic violence victims during the pandemic.

I must say, women are taking over 2020. Entering into this pandemic we did not stop, we continued to grow. We go to school, work, take care of our family and still find time to be the queens we truly are.

Rihanna has started and expanded her business. Being an entertainer and businesswoman and not stopping for anything is what makes Robyn Rihanna Fenty the richest self-made woman on Forbes List!
