HC Montclair’s New Year Resolutions

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Montclair chapter.

At the end of every year, it has become a tradition to come up with something to work on doing better for the following year. Yep, we are talking about resolutions! New year resolutions vary from eating healthier, putting more effort into your work, being happier, not eating chocolate (although I’m not sure why anyone would want to do such a thing), and more. I find them funny because according to Forbes, only 8% of people actually achieve their resolutions. Yet, we continue to see long paragraphs on Facebook of what everyone plans to make their resolution.

New Years Resolutions are clearly linked with much failure, but we’re obviously still going to participate. This year, my resolution is to just go after my dreams. I plan on getting back into recording music, prepping for Miss New Jersey in June, and working on succeeding in college to give my little brothers everything in life. I interviewed some of my fellow HC Montclair girls and here are some of their NYRs:

  • Tanya Eligur: To get back into shape, continue to work hard, and reach for my goals.
  • Kelsey Mulholland: To do more things that make me happy simply because they make me happy!
  • Jennifer Okorie: To have a happy and healthy new year for myself, family, and friends, to get further in my yoga practice, to learn more about myself, and to be happy!
  • Camila De Souza: To live in the moment and enjoy my last semester of college.

There you have it, collegiettes. Bring it on, 2015!
