Full House fans can finally rejoice: the anxiously anticipated sequel to the hit sitcom, Fuller House, premiered this past Friday! This revival of the ever so popular family sitcom has been the talk of the New Year and let me tell you, it did not disappoint.

As a dedicated fan of Full House, I had very high expectations and started out a little skeptical of the show. I figured it was going to be one of those shows; a revival of a classic hit that turns out to be a complete failure, but it was actually really entertaining and really funny! The show put a modern twist on the 90’s sitcom without losing the sincere, family comedy we all love!

The first episode of Fuller House is all anyone who calls themselves a fan needs to see, especially since most of the main characters from the original make an appearance! It’s easy to just sit there in envy as you watch these beloved characters still looking so good (*cough, Uncle Jesse and Aunt Becky*). You now get to see DJ as a single mother, (with her adorable sons Jackson, Max, and Tommy) Stephanie as the free spirited aunt and Nicky and Alex all grown up attending college, (#sobbing) while Joey is still making his funny jokes, Danny is still talking about cleaning and Kimmy, while now also a mother to her mini-me Ramona, is still the pesky neighbor (you’d think she would’ve learned what a doorbell is in the last 21 years!) Even DJ’s ex-boyfriend Steve made an appearance and, naturally, ate everything in sight. The only one missing, le sigh, was Michelle, but don’t worry her famous catch phrases are still being used in the show. Let’s all say it together, “You Got It Dude!”

After binge watching the entire 12-episode season in a day (don’t judge me), I was able to re-experience the laughter and as well as dwell in the heartwarming nostalgia that is Fuller House. It was hard to say goodbye to Full House, but now that we have Fuller House, we can relive our childhood with our favorite TV family and shout “Have Mercy” without getting weird looks. Needless to say, this is a Netflix show worth watching. You don’t want to miss out on seeing what your favorite 90’s family is doing in 2016!
