It’s officially Fall! The weather is getting cooler, the leaves are changing, and there are so many fun things to do this month! Whether you’re into pumpkin patches, apple picking, haunted houses, or autumn hikes, here is a list of fun things to do in New Jersey in October.

  1. Terhune Orchards – Terhune Orchards is located in Princeton, NJ, and offers tons of fun and festive activities for you to do this fall. Whether you want to go apple or pumpkin picking, see tons of cute farm animals, or relax and enjoy some live music, Terhune Orchards has everything you need.
  2. Skylands Stadium Jack-O’-Lantern Experience – From September to November, Skylands Stadium in Augusta, NJ, is transformed into a spooky wonderland featuring a spectacular Halloween stroll where you can see over 6000 hand-carved illuminated jack-o-lanterns and other light displays.
  3. Halloween House – Halloween House is an immersive, one-of-a-kind Halloween experience where you are transported to an all-Halloween world. If you’re the type of person who is not into gore or jump scares, but you still want to enjoy Halloween and all it has to offer, this is perfect for you.
  4. Hayride of Horrors & Corn Maze – located in Hackettstown, NJ, Hayride of Horrors & Corn Maze offers haunted hayrides, haunted houses, corn mazes, dayrides, ghost house tours, and pumpkin picking, and they run from now until the end of October!
  5. High Point State Park – High Point State Park is located in Sussex, NJ, and though it is not the first place that comes to mind when you think of fun fall activities, if you’re looking to get away from the stresses of day to day life, you can come and take a daytime autumn hike or even stargaze at the summit of Kittatinny Ridge.

New Jersey has so much to offer in the fall, whether it’s walking through an extravagant light display with your family, pumpkin picking with friends, or stargazing with your significant other. Even if Fall isn’t your favorite season, I hope that this helps you find something fun to do this season!
