DIY Halloween Costumes Inspired by Iconic Films and Female Roles

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Montclair chapter.

As a spooky month, Scorpio baby, I could not be more obsessed with Halloween! Along with my love for films, this is the perfect opportunity to combine both of my interests and share with you guys some DIY Halloween costumes inspired by iconic movie roles. The best part is, these costumes can be easily put together with minimal spending or some basics from your closet.

A Classic: Mia Wallace from “Pulp Fiction”

What you need:

  1. 1. A white button up
  2. Black dress pants
  3. Cigarette
  4. Fake syringe (fake blood if possible)
  5. Your coolest black bob wig!

Mathilda from “Leon: The Professional”

What you need:

  1. Black crop top
  2. Cotton shorts
  3. Bomber
  4. Black choker
  5. Red beanie (if possible)
  6. Combat boots

Kim from “Edward Scissorhands”

This is a good look if you’re a single lady or if you want to make it a fun couples costume!

What you need:

  1. A white long dress
  2. Strawberry blonde wig (optional)

Holly from “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”

I was actually Holly last Halloween  and it was a great way to look classy and dressed up. I already had all of the accessories, I just bought some inexpensive gloves.

What you need:

  1. A black dress
  2. Black flats
  3. A black head piece
  4. Accessories

Enjoy your Halloween ladies, stay safe and look cute on a budget!
