With Spring finally upon us, we all could use some new tunes to accompany us on our day-to-day routines. Whether you’re cleaning out your closet of all your winter gear or need a pick-me-up following Daylight Savings, music can make our days a little brighter. From the new Tennis album, to Montclair native’s Pinegrove, here’s some highlights from our Spring Cleaning Mixtape!

In the Morning I’ll Be Better – Tennis

Tennis recently came out with their newest album, Yours Conditionally, on March 10th. The duo consists of Alaina Moore and Patrick Riley. Yours Conditionally is the perfect album to listen to when you want to rock those post-seventies pop vibes. On a sunny morning, blasting “In the Morning I’ll Be Better” in the car will leave you feeling hopeful.

She’s Gonna Leave You – The Walters

When faced with heartbreak or in need of a song to just scream-sing the lyrics to, “She’s Gonna Leave You” by The Walters is the perfect fit. The Walters is an alternative/indie band from Chicago. All of their songs include infectious melodies with lyrics that’ll be stuck in your head for days.

Your Best American Girl – Mitski

Listening to a song by Mitski pretty much sums up all the feelings we have bottled up inside of us. Her song “Your Best American Girl” is a ballad that is reminiscent of a relationship that could have been – whether it just wasn’t meant to be or not.

Aphasia – Pinegrove

Pinegrove is a band native to Montclair, NJ. What gets me every time I hear one of their songs is the depth in their lyrics. Their song “Aphasia” depicts the fear of not being able to express how you really feel. It’s something we all face and lead singer Evan Hall evokes the frustration with ease.
