HCM: What are some of your hobbies?
CA: I go to the gym three times a week and I love watching reruns of TV shows like Sex and the City! I also like to draw, listen to music, and just hang out with my friends.
Â
HCM: Are you in any clubs here at Montclair?
CA: I am a part of Dinallo Heights Hall Council and I am a member of Residential Hall Association.
Â
HCM: How do you contribute to these organizations?
CA: For Dinallo Heights Hall Council, I helped make hand turkeys for our Thanksgiving banner. It was so much fun!
Â
HCM: What do you plan to do after you graduate?
CA: I want to go to medical school and become a pediatrician.
Â
HCM: How do you plan to reach this amazing goal?
CA: I took courses at a medical school in the summer and I volunteer as an EMT. I plan to do more summer enrichment programs because I’m trying to get as much experience and knowledge as I can.
Â
HCM: Who supports you when it comes to your dreams of becoming a pediatrician?
CA: My family, they have always been there for me. Also, the Health Careers Program here at Montclair.
Â
HCM: Is there anything you would like to tell anyone pursuing to be a pediatrician or be in the medical field?
CA: Everyone thinks that wanting to become a doctor or anything in the medical field means that you have to be in school for a long time, which is true. Nothing that you really want is ever going to be easy. Being a doctor means that you have the ability to save someone’s life and that is challenging. If you are passionate about something, it doesn’t matter how hard it is, you just have to go for it!
