Collegiette’s meet Delsana, this week’s Campus Celebrity! Delsana is not only a campus leader but she also manages a heavy course load being a Biology major. She can be spotted around campus with a bright smile and an upbeat, pep in her step as she makes her way towards her next campus destination. And even though she is a commuter, Delsana still finds a way to be heavily involved in the MSU community!Â

HCM:Â How involved are you on campus?
DI: I’m very involved! I’m a part of HSA [Haitian Student Association] and HSA’s Dance Troupe. I’m also an SA in Sinatra Hall, and a Peer Leader in the CAST office.
Â
HCM:Â Wow that’s a lot of responsibility! What made you choose your major?
DI:Â I needed a way to help people and being that my mom is a nurse, she inspired me to go into the medical field.
Â
HCM:Â Nice! So, where do you see yourself in five years?
DI: Getting out of Physical Therapy/Medical School and hopefully owning my own practice.
Â
HCM: What is your favorite college moment?Â
DI: I would say being given the chance to become a Peer Leader over the summer because the position helped to further enhance my sense of leadership and communication skills. It also helped me to grow more as a person.Â
Â
HCM:Â What is your favorite campus hangout spot?
DI:Â University Hall’s Courtyard.
Â
HCM:Â Who’s your ideal type of man?
DI:Â I like a man who is career driven, family oriented, has a great sense of humor and is preferably athletic.Â
Â
HCM:Â What is one piece of advice you’d give to freshmen?
DI:Â One is to stay true to yourself and two don’t let anyone stop you from accomplishing your goals.
Â
HCM:Â That’s some great advice. What is one thing you wish you knew before you started college?
DI:Â I wish I knew how to manage my time better because there’s SO many activities offered on campus and time management is very important especially in an academic sense.Â

Right before we parted ways with Delsana, we asked her if she had anything she would like to leave with the readers for inspiration and she left us with a short but very important quote:Â
“I’m not sure who originated the quote but ‘A mind is a terrible thing to waste.'” HCM would like to thank Delsana for taking time out of her full schedule to share with us what it means to be a campus celebrity. We wish her the best for the rest of her junior year and in her future endeavors at MSU.
