Meet our celebrity of the month, Anne Dottino! She is currently a sophomore at MSU and is an aspiring fashion buyer. She can pick out the latest and greatest fashions at the drop of a hat! She says smiling, “whenever I walk around the mall I am constantly looking at displays the stores have and critique the positives and negatives of each display. I determine the target market for each piece of clothing I see. I look at the quality of the fashions, and decide if it’s worth the money or not. I am very knowledgeable about what looks good and the types of uses a piece of clothing, footwear, and accessories can be used for. The different types of occasions a garment can be used for. In fashion it’s all about branding and marketing you. Making sure the customer walks out of your store knowing that they made the right purchase, and that you feel confident about your sale. The competition is rough; so it’s always important to know your facts and be aware of the constant fashion changes going on”.
She says, “Fashion is all about personality. What makes my style is all about being fabulous, and really making sure whatever I’m wearing looks great”. One of Anne’s favorite things to do is to coordinate her outfits, making sure they are put together and classy. Anne is a very energetic, lively, and cheerful girl who is always sure to reflect that on her style. She states, “It’s all about the glitz and the glam. Wearing anything with sparkles adds a special touch”. Her favorite staple fashion is designer jeans, such as 7 for All Mankind and True Religion. Anne makes it clear that quality is key, and that is what you should aim for when you are out shopping.
Anne’s wardrobe consists of the classics such as, essential blazers, sequence tops, jeans, and flats, of course! Currently animal prints, bright colors, scarves, and big bags fascinate her. Although fashion is constantly changing, Anne is always up to speed and ready to try the latest trends. Her celebrity fashion role model would be Kim Kardashian because of her glamorous appearance and ambitious drive. Anne states, “she [Kim] has her own clothing line, but besides that always is following what is new and hot in the fashion world. She always looks good in whatever she wears, and she believes that you can’t leave your house unless you are looking fabulous. That’s how I feel even in a pair of sweats and a hoodie; I always freshen myself up and look my best”. Anne closes the interview with an aspiring quote by Giorgio Armani, “The difference between style and fashion is quality”.
