It’s finally February, but Winter is not done just yet and boy does our skin know it. Did you know 8.4 Million Americans suffer from dry skin at some point? *Sigh* We can dream about Summer as much as we want, but we need to take action now and take care of our bodies so we not only look but feel as healthy and beautiful as we can. Here are some tips to beat the winter beauty blues.

Why do we get dry skin?!

The two biggest culprits are the cold air outside mixed with the heated air inside which leads to low humidity and, in turn, DRY SKIN.

It gets even worse when you add in harsh winds, warm fireplaces, wool fabrics, hot showers, hot drinks, a warm house, and (hopefully not) smoking.

How do you fix it?

Nothing is worse than a freezing cold day that turns your nose red, chaps your lips and makes your face feel as though you just walked through a blizzard (not a rare occurence at Montclair!) However, that red hot shower you crave to warm up at the end of the day? Well, it turns out it is hurting more than helping. So what can you do?

First of all, load up on healthy foods that will do some good for healthy hair and skin. Drink some Green Juices, eat some Salmon, load up on Omega-3’s, and of course, drink lots and lots of water!

And probably the most important step is to make sure to always moisturize everything! Body, hair, face; all of it. You might even think about looking into a humidifier for your room the boost the hydration situation.

And don’t forget about your hands and toes either! You can use moisturizing gloves on your hands and anything as simple as Vaseline and socks on your toes to keep your digits super supple.

Now that your skin is saved, it’s time to get the best winter makeup!

According to BeautyEditor, these are some of the best products on the market to help all your winter skin needs!

Face

This is where it all begins: the setup for all of your beauty products. You could have the best eye shadow or blush in the world, but none of it will last without a great base. Check out this great moisturizer and concealer.

Cheeks

Of course we all miss our sun kissed, tanned summer skin, but just because it’s February doesn’t mean you have to look like Casper! Add some blush and bronzer to keep your cheeks nice and toasty, or at least look it! These color sticks are the best 2-in-1!

Eyes

Just like Shelly says in the 2008 Hit, House Bunny, “They eyes are the nipples of the face”. Unlike summer, there’s probably not much of a chance you’ll be diving in an ocean or pool any time soon, so don’t sweat (pun intended) messing up your eye makeup with this great mascara
