8 Things to Look Forward to This Summer

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Montclair chapter.

Getting through the last long weeks of the spring semester can be tough, especially with finals! If you’re anything like me, this can become a pretty overwhelming and stressful time. However, a tactic that always helps me to stay motivated is thinking about all I have to look forward to! Summer break is right around the corner and here is a list I compiled of 15 random things to look forward to and get excited about — which can hopefully distract your mind from all the school work for a little bit.

1. Catching up with your friends from home

Getting to spend the entire school year with your new college friends is great, but no one can replace your friends from home.

2. Family vacations

Although you might not admit it, you know you miss spending time with your family too.

3. Home cooked meals

GOODBYE dining hall (for now, at least).

4. Summer fashion

One of the best things about the summer season is definitely all of the cute clothes — and it’s finally warm enough to wear them!

5. Seeing your pets

A whole school year without seeing your pets is way too long.

6. Summer jobs

At first you might not be too excited about this one, but having more opportunities to make some money is always good.

7. Ice Cream

Get ready for lots of ice cream dates with friends!

8. Most importantly… more relaxation

In a few weeks, so much of your stress regarding school will be gone. Use these few months of summer break to unwind, relax, and get ready to start the next semester off right.
