5 Healthy Foods for Healthy Hair

As ladies, we yearn to have healthy, luscious hair. We usually think that less heat and not putting any additives will help with your hair’s health; but what you put in your body plays a big part on how our exterior looks. Here are five super-foods you can add to you diet to not only better your hair’s health, but your skin’ s and body’s.

1. Avocado

Avocados are chock full of healthy fats and vitamins such as Vitamins A, D, & E.  They help aid in healthy hair growth and stop immense hair loss. There are different ways to utilize this wonderful fruit: eating it, using the oil in your hair, or even making an avocado mask. They help your hair look soft, smooth, and shiny. They can also aid in taming the horrid frizz! 

2. Salmon

Salmon is one of the best things you can eat for healthy skin and hair as it is full of fatty Omega-3’s.  Omega-3’s help nourish the hair follicles and lock moisture into the strands.  A small percentage of your hair is actually made of these fats.  This fish keeps your scalp just as healthy as your hair. Give it a try, even if fish isn’t your favorite!

3. Carrots

You wouldn’t necessarily link carrots to healthy hair but they are great for your skin and eyes as well. Carrots contain plenty of Vitamin A, which is also present in your hair. Vitamin A helps the sebum oil in your scalps which keeps it healthy and moisturized. Moisturized hair is healthy hair!

4. Eggs

These little protien ladden breakfast foods are very popular and tasty. Not only is it one of the healthiest for you, it contains Biotin. Biotin is a very key vitamin to have as it keeps your hair lustrous and strong. If you are lacking Biotin, then try to get your hands on the little pills as well, you will be sure to see some change in your hair’s health.

5. Walnuts

Ah, nature really does have the best things in life. These little nuts are rich in Biotin, Vitamin E, and Omega-3’s! They provide nourishment and help keep your hair nice and strong, but the best part is that it keeps protected from the sun! If the veggies and fish aren’t your favorite, then these little suckers pack quite the punch!

There are tons of food that help your hair feel and look great, why not start looking for the one that will benefit you the most? Make sure it is something you would enjoy, a happy you makes healthy hair so much easier.
