4 Types of Jeans You Need to Have in Your Closet!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Montclair chapter.

We all know that jeans are a necessity. Owning at least 10 pairs myself, I know how difficult it can be finding the right pair for your body type. Do not fear! I’m going to show you 4 types of jeans that will suit all body types.

  1. Skinny Jeans

Let’s start with the most common pair of jeans – skinnies. Skinnies work for every single body type since they are designed to fit your size. Where’s the best place to get skinnies? I highly recommend American Eagle Outfitters. Their denim fabric is so breathable and stretches perfectly to fit however your body may be. Skinnies are incredible because they can be paired with almost any outfit and rolled up to get the Parisian-chic effect. They’re basically available in any wash. My suggestion is to stick to dark washes, they have a slimming affect and will match anything you pair with it.

  1. Boyfriend Jeans

Boyfriend jeans have made a full comeback and they’re here to stay. Like skinnies, they come in all types of washes. I like to wear my boyfriend jeans with a fitted t-shirt since to even out the slouchy-ness of the jeans. The GAP has some great selections and all though they are a tad pricey, their denim is top quality so I suggest spending the extra money!

  1. Colored Jeans

Colored jeans can be found almost anywhere but the brand I’ve found that works the best is Old Navy.  Old Navy’s “Rockstar” jeans have a wide range of colors and they are extremely budget friendly. A hue that works best on all is the “cool” hues.  Colors like plum, burgundy, navy, and army green flatter all sizes. If there’s one color I’m positive anyone can rock, it’s the red jean!

  1. Straight Cut Jeans

Straight cut jeans are a little difficult to find now since the world is ran by skinny jeans. Straight cut jeans are a good style to try because they’re fitted through out the thigh and then slightly loosen at the ankle. They’re great for creating cuffed jeans and wearing them with, well, you know, anything! These jeans are commonly found at American Eagle Outfitters and the Gap.
