We all know college is a bit hectic with classes, studying, work, and hanging out with friends. We all need a break every now and then, and other times, we probably should have less breaks and more studying time. I know that it’s hard to balance the two, but it IS possible, collegiettes! Guess what? You’re all in luck because HC Montclair is here to help and has a plan that is sure to work for you all. Check out our four tips for time management below.
- Breathe in, Breathe out. Don’t stress out with the amount of work you get from your classes, just pace yourself. If you stress out, you could potentially stress out other people and it will not end pretty. Start by making a weekly calendar of when you have class, and through that, you will be able to see when you have free time. What you choose to do with your free time is up to you but, you should probably schedule some studying here and there.
- School Comes First. If you have a job, that’s great! As college students, we all need some pocket money. Try not to let work take up all your free time because school should come first since we are all paying thousands of dollars for it. I know money can be tempting, but don’t over work yourself.
- Have Some Fun. Don’t forget to plan time to hang out with your friends. Go to lunch, watch a movie, whatever it may be, JUST SOCIALIZE! You would go bananas working all the time, and being around friends will help you let your hair down and just have fun! Just don’t have too much fun where you get off track.
- You Time. I know this may sound silly, but don’t forget to eat and sleep. Coming to class hungry and tired will not help you focus. Aim for at least three meals a day and seven hours of sleep so you can be energized and ready to learn for class.
