KBGA Birthday Bash

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Montana chapter.
Friday, September 23rd, will ring in yet another memorable Birthday Bash, the 15th to be exact, for local college radio station KBGA.  The B-Day Bash is taking on the theme “Made in Montana” complete with Ho Down costumes, a free photo booth, fishing for prizes, prizes at the door, a raffle, and limited edition KBGA Birthday Bash T’s.  Costumes are encouraged.

The line-up at the Badlander will include local two-piece band The Box Cutters, providing a combination of blues, punk, and “psychobilly.”  Also taking the Badlander stage will be LA’s Danielle Oliver.  Oliver offers the crowd a softer, indie pop front.  Finally Kalispell female-folk-duo Fat Cats of Augusta will hit the stage promising to get the audience movin’ their feet with an upbeat atmosphere.

The line-up at the Palace, on the other hand, brings in sounds a hint raunchier than those listed above.  Formally known as Ass-End Offend, locals Squalora describe themselves as  “a cross between getting stabbed in the ear with a rusty sickle, having an aneurysm while being run over by a gravel truck, and all of your favorite hits from the 80’s played backwards, full of subliminal messages.”  Holy. I’ll leave the rest up to you.  Alongside Squalora at the Palace will be Tidal Horn and the Thug Nasties, always a favorite, both hailing from Missoula.  The two are sure to provide a night of punk, garage, and nasty rock and roll.  KBGA can be an angst-punk driven fifteen-year-old, too.

Doors for the event open at 9 PM. It is also an 18+ event.
7$ for 21+, 9$ for 18-20

Don’t miss out! KBGA has yet to let us college folk down.
