Why Winnetka Bowling League Needs to Be on Your Spring Playlist

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Monmouth chapter.

Now that spring has finally arrived, you need to add some songs to your playlist that feel like sunshine. If you’re a fan of alt-pop and bands like Foster the People, I recommend checking out Winnetka Bowling League.

They’re pretty new to the music scene, and their upcoming EP “Cloudy With a Chance of Sun” is currently available for pre-order.

Two singles have been released from it, “Kombucha” and “Slow Dances,” and the latter is my new obsession.

I haven’t been able to get it out of my head all week. I highly suggest listening to it on a sunny day, while you’re driving around with your windows down. You can check out the lyric video here:

“On the 5” is from their self-titled debut EP, and it is a bop. The guy in this video who is clearly stressed, but still dancing around shirtless, is relatable AF.

A fun fact: the band is led by lead-singer Matthew Koma, who is (my childhood hero) Hilary Duff’s boyfriend. The couple share a super cute daughter together and they are relationship goals.

There isn’t much left to say, except that Winnetka Bowling League is my new favorite band. Their music will make you dance, smile, and feel your last heartbreak all over again (in the most beautiful way).
