Dead to Me: Your Next Netflix Obsession

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Monmouth chapter.

Dead to Me is guaranteed to be your next Netflix obsession. Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini lead the dark comedy, and their acting is insanely captivating. I had chills watching the entire time.

The first season is currently available for you to binge. If you like suspense without being totally creeped out, then this is a perfect fit for you. I am praying that we get a second season soon… to say that it ends in a cliffhanger is an understatement.

Dead to Me essentially follows Jen (Applegate), after her husband is killed in a hit and run. The person who hit him is unknown, and it definitely weighs on her sanity.

She then meets Judy (Cardellini) and even though their friendship is far from perfect, it shows the power of platonic relationships. They’re able to see their flaws with the help of each other, and they try their best trying to change.

Their dynamic is everything. Add in James Marsden (from Enchanted!), a stellar supporting cast, and Will Ferrell as a producer, and it’s pretty perfect. I won’t give away any spoilers, but you can check out the trailer here:

The season is only 10 episodes, and each episode is about 30 minutes long. It will keep surprising you the entire time, making it impossible to not watch back-to-back episodes. Happy binge watching!
