Beauty Obsession: Josie Maran Cosmetics

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Monmouth chapter.

Hey babes, a few weeks ago I talked about my favorite cosmetic and skincare line, Josie Maran. I also promised I’d let you know which products I can’t live without from her line. Well, I always keep my promises. In five minutes, your beauty routine, and daily regimen, will be changed, oh so positively.

Whipped Argan Oil Face Butter

Finding a creamy, yet hydrating moisturizer can be seriously difficult. I’ve tried everything from Neutrogena Hydro Boost, to Clinique Dramatically different moisturizing lotion. Yet, nothing quite compares to this one. The texture is unexplainable. Would you think I’m a little nuts if I described it as a fluffy, marshmallow texture? Maran describes this face butter as a 100% Pure Argan Oil whip, that is a ‘lightweight, yet luxuriously rich face cream that provides instant and abundant hydration. … It leaves the skin leaving juicy and supple’. This whip currently comes in a 1.7 fl. oz. jar, in vibrant, and sweet scents including, vanilla bean, apple blossom, cucumber aloe, and of course, for those who enjoy simplicity (like me!), unscented. It’s affordable, $42 price tag can be sold at Sephora, and Josie Maran website individually, or in a bundle at QVC.

Argan Sugar Balm Body Scrub

I used to think all body scrubs were the same. I was proven to be mistaken – (first, and only time I didn’t mind admitting I was wrong). This body scrub is not just an scrub for the bath. It is a pure sugar scrub. This ‘hydrating, and revitalizing exfoliating sugar scrub, features 100 pure Argan oil, and delicate sugar crystals’. I mean … ugh. Need I say anymore? To top it off, the scents vary from seasons. Josie’s website always carries the unscented. I got my first, 10 fl. oz., mason jar on this heaven during the fall when it came in sugared clementine. Just the aroma it gave off, I had to remind myself it was a scrub, and not a morning burst-of-fruit snack.

Whipped Argan Oil Body Butter

This was, proudly, my first Josie product, and it’ll forever be an O.G. For starters, this whipped body cream won QVC Customer Care Beauty Awards in 2016, and rightfully so. Josie’s butter ‘revitalizes skin, restores softness, improves the texture of the skin’, by enriching the skin with essential fatty acids, and antioxidants. It has a texture that could be described as velvet. It is, hands down, the creamiest, and smoothest moisturizer for the body I’ve ever used. The array of scents makes it impossible for someone to not fall in love with at least one. For only $36, you can buy Vanilla Apricot, Juicy Mango, Hippie Beach, Sweet Apple Cider, and my personal fave, Sugared Clementine.

Argan Lip Sting Plumping Butter

I saved my favorite for last. This will be the most logical $23 spent on a makeup product, I guarantee you. I’m going to be honest when I vowed that M.A.C.’s lipsticks would hold my heart forever. I guess I spoke too soon. I currently have four, out of the ten life-changing shades of this lipstick. I know, I sound incredibly extra, and dramatic by saying that, but I swear, I have yet to find a product for my lips that not only have so many benefits, but provide me what such an amazingly natural, yet pop-of-color, look. It is a lipstick described to have, a ‘subtle sting and lip-plumping complex visibly enhance lips for a voluptuous, juicy pout.’ The manuka honey, and moringa butter ingredients hydrate your lips, resulting in a smoother and fuller look. My two personal favorites for a strawberry-stained, and just-kissed look are both Free It Grapefruit Pink, and Inspire it Pink Apple. Looking for a clear, natural, but smooth, and hydrating look and feel? I highly recommend the Work it Vanilla Clear.

God knows, and I’m sure you can by now, I can go on for days about this line. I’d tell you about the Argan Moonstone Glow Stick I use in the summer, which is AMAZING to sweep across your collarbone to enhance your summer glow. Or even the Milk Intensive Hydrating Treatment, that is little milk-like, white drops of gold. Fact is, this is not only a natural, clean, and cruelty-free line, it has such a various array of products that literally any person, with any skin type, color, and variation could use, and I promise you, if you take my suggestions, or just go ahead and try some out on your own, you will not be disappointed.
