Affordable Fashion: Graduation Style

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Monmouth chapter.

If you’re currently a senior in college, there is one thing on your mind at this point in the semester: graduation. Whether you are exuding excitement to move forward or clinging onto your undergraduate status for dear life, most of us are finding it difficult to settle the dozens of restless butterflies in our stomachs at the thought of the “G” word. Celebrating four years of pushing your limits in every sense of the word, there is no doubt that photos from the ceremony will be cherished by yourself and others for many years to come. As if daydreams of walking across the stage to grab your diploma do not feel nightmarish enough, deciding on the perfect dress to pair with your cap and gown may feel as stress inducing as high school prom. However, with seemingly mountainous stacks of loans to take care of after the big day, spending more than a cent on anything unrelated to finishing off your academic career can bring along some serious shopper’s guilt. Fear not; there is a solution to looking seriously stylish while on a tight budget. Actually, there are quite a few fixes to facing the price tag of a dress you absolutely adore. Here are five affordable online stores that you may have forgotten to check out:

Forever 21

Though Forever 21 has not released a section specifically for upcoming grads just yet, the latest arrivals of the Summer Dress Shop offers some adorable substitutes perfect for the warm weather starting at as low as $10. Such a steal!

Fashion Nova: The Little White Dress portion of Fashion Nova’s site advertises nearly 300 styles that will allow your inner #BossBabe shine through, including Kylie’s iconic knotted satin mini dress.

Windsor: Described as “flowy and feminine,” Windsor’s Graduation Shop features the trendiest pieces in formalwear, averaging at around $30.

Nasty Gal:

Saving your cash is never an issue when shopping at Nasty Gal. The store almost always has promotes a 50% discount on all items, including those already marked down, AND students are eligiable for an extra 10% off their purchase. Sweet!

Happy shopping, ladies!
