On November 19th, the hip-hop star, Kayne West, had ended his show in Sacramento, California after performing only four songs followed by a ten-minute rant. He ranted about Beyonce, Jay-Z, Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton, etc. The following show was canceled due to Kayne’s wishes about having the rest of his “Saint Pablo Tour” canceled. This outburst had become a hot topic on social media, especially Twitter. Twitter exploded with memes after Ye’s rant.
Since the rant, it was reported that Kayne West has been hospitalized due to stress and exhaustion. LA police had been called to West’s trainer’s home due to a disturbance around 1:20 pm on Monday, November 21st. When police arrived, they found that it was a medical situation instead of criminal. He was handcuffed and escorted in an ambulance to the Ronald Regan UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles.
But what really pushed the rapper into psychiatric hold? There was more to it than what was reported.
After being hospitalized, it had to be reported that it wasn’t because of stress and exhaustion, but due to paranoia and depression. The source (a friend of the Kardashian family) reported to TMZ that Kayne had been dealing with these issues for a long time. The depression started when his mother, Donda West, had tragically passed away.
Donda West has been the inspiration behind Ye’s success. She had passed away November 10th, 2007, the day after receiving multiple plastic surgeries. West professes his sadness into his lyrics. Kayne blames himself for her death. West told Q magazine, “If I had never moved to LA, she’d be alive.” Having all this pent up anger and suicide thoughts led to his paranoia. TMZ was told that after Ye was hospitalized, he was convinced everyone was out to get him. Sources say he wouldn’t even let the doctors near him.
West may be able to leave the hospital on Monday, November 28th, to be placed under the care of his personal doctor. His wife, Kim Kardashian, has not left his side. Celebrities have offered their support to the rapper and his family, hoping he’d make a full recovery.
It is a time for holidays, which means family time. Kayne is known to go on rants every year around this time, especially November. People fight depression in different ways. It just so happens that his way wasn’t healthy for him. Please pray for him and his family.
