Campus Cutie: Jeremiah Titone

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Molloy chapter.

Name: Jeremiah Titone

Hometown: Bellmore

Age: 20

Year: 2018

Major: Finance

Relationship status: Single

What are you involved with on campus? “I perform with MPAC (The Molloy Performing Arts Club) and as treasurer I help manage the club. This is where I learnt how to start my own business. I founded “Chesswag” earlier this year and I look forward to the Shark Tank business pitch competition, November 17th. I also sing in the choir and perform with the percussion ensemble.

What is your craziest Molloy story? “Oh wow… too many to mention! There was the time I was hanging out with some friends after theatre practice and we stayed so late that we saw the track team starting their morning run!”

What do you do in your spare time? “Haha… spare time? I’m a college student! I don’t have spare time! I do have a job working as a chess teacher in a Local Non-Profit and I go to the gym about 7 hours a week. I volunteer as a musician at the Vineyard Church here in Rockville Centre.”

Do you have any hidden talents? “I love to play the drums with my band, I have been acting for 16 years, and I sing a little bit. I am also fairly successful at investing in the stock market.”

What are your three favorite things about yourself?

  1. “I am very independent and self motivated. I don’t get discouraged when others tell me that I will fail or that something can’t be done. I’ll admit, it’s a bit of a weakness too, because once I believe that I can achieve something, it’s nearly impossible to convince me otherwise.”
  2. “I am unique. I have my own way of thinking, even my own way of dressing, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard ‘why are you so dressed up?’ and thought ‘what do you mean this is how I always dress?’ I’ve never had a friend that I felt was ‘just like me’. I love standing out. I don’t want to be just another stereotypical ‘business guy’ or ‘theatre kid’ or ‘rock musician.’ I am me.”
  3. “It might sound cliche, but knowing who God is and knowing who I am in Him gives me so much confidence. I don’t have to look to friends or talents for validation. I am enough.”

What is the name of your band? “32 Pints.”

How long ago was the band formed? “We started 7-1/2 years ago but it was mostly just to hang out. I didn’t even know how to play the drums at that point. We’ve been playing seriously for 4 years now.”

We heard you performed at homecoming, how was it? “Performing at Homecoming was so much fun! I was able to perform a full set with my band 32 Pints and a full set with Molloy’s own amazingly talented Mike Munoz.”

Is your band performing any time soon? “My band is currently in the process of planning out our third tour. We will tour from Massachusetts down to Florida. At least one show will take place on Long Island. Like our Facebook page for updates!”

One more crazy story: “I have been performing with MPAC since before I attended Molloy as a student. I performed at an open house and then went on the tour to see if I wanted to go to school here. My friend Paul was sitting at the Gaelic table welcoming potential students, but right next to him, the Italian table was unmanned. So I sat down to hang out with him and ended up representing the Italian club and welcoming visitors to a school I hadn’t even applied to yet”
