Blue October is an American alternative rock band that got its start in Houston, Texas. The band was formed in 1995 and consists of Justin Furstenfeld, Jeremy Furstenfeld, Ryan Delahoussaye, Matthew Ostrander and Matt Noveskey. Justin Furstenfeld is their lead vocals and plays guitar. Jeremy Furstenfeld plays the drums in the band. Ryan is playing piano, violin, mandolin, and he also is backing vocals. Matthew is lead guitar and Matt is bass guitar and he also is backing vocals.
Blue October has had ten Top 40 singles over their past seven studio albums and is best known for their platinum singles “Hate Me” and “Into the Ocean” from their 2006 platinum album Foiled. Their seven albums are called The Answers, Consent to Treatment, History for Sale, Foiled, Approaching Normal, Any Man in America, Sway and Home. Home was released in 2016.
Justin Furstenfeld is the lead singer of Blue October and has been through many awful events in his life. He has battled an addiction to drugs, a custody battle for his oldest Blue, a nasty divorce, depression, suicidal thoughts, and even a stay in a mental hospital in Minneapolis, MN. Justin is now on a better path and has been sober for five years. He remarried and had another child and also sees his daughter Blue on a regular basis. He also is in therapy for his depression and is doing very well.
