For as long as I can remember, I always dreamed of traveling. I didn’t know where I was going to go, how I would get there or who I would be going with, but I was determined. From my first paycheck when I was fifteen, I began putting my money into savings because I told myself I would use it one day to travel.

Maybe I was a bit of an overly ambitious 15 year old, but my plan worked. I have now been to a total of eight countries in addition to the United States. Looking back, when I first began saving for these trips, I never could have imagined I would have already fulfilled my dream of traveling so early on. Everything just kind of fell into place for me these last couple years and I was given so many amazing opportunities to travel.

In my three separate trips abroad, the circumstances were a little different, but in all of them, money wasn’t really a deciding factor for me because I already had that part figured out. I am forever thankful for my younger self and that determination I had to make my dreams a reality.

Now, I challenge you to do the same. Think of one or two goals for yourself, even if they may seem a long way off. Maybe it’s something you’ve been dreaming about for awhile, or maybe it’s something you’ve been thinking about more recently. Whatever the case, put it in your mind or write it down if you have to, and don’t give up until you’ve accomplished it.

If you start planning for your dreams now – who knows, you might just fulfill them sooner than you expected! You can always create new dreams, but never give up on the ones you’ve been holding on to.
