Though the regular season doesn’t officially kick-off until October 5th, the Minnesota Wild is already finding ways to get fans involved in the action. The “This Is Our Ice” campaign is offering fans the opportunity to help create the ice that their favorite players will skate on through the playoffs of the 2017-2018 season.
Fans are encouraged to bring water from their favorite lakes, rinks, and ponds to the Xcel Energy Center on September 16th. It is also worth noting that single-game tickets for the upcoming season will go on sale the very same day. This new tradition will give fans all across the “State of Hockey” the opportunity to further connect as community by contributing a piece of their own “hockey heritage”. If you are interested in participating, you can find all the information you’ll need here.
The Minnesota Wild released their “This Is Our Ice” promotional video earlier this summer, and whether you are a die-hard hockey fan or just a proud Minnesotan, the clip is enough to give you chills (watch it here).
This will definitely be a tradition that stands strong throughout the future seasons, connecting fans from different cities and towns and throughout many different generations, all over their shared love for hockey. But more specifically, the Minnesota Wild.
